00:00:00.621 --> 00:00:02.850
So what does a day in the life of a coach look like to you?

00:00:03.359 --> 00:00:04.766
Yeah, we get this question a lot.

00:00:04.766 --> 00:00:10.867
I think it's mostly because we used to work a nine to five I mean being a police officer, you being in corporate and then coming home full time.

00:00:10.867 --> 00:00:26.774
I think a lot of people look forward to that, but then they have no idea of what it's actually gonna look like, and I think that's why people wanna actually get into what is exactly everything that you do, and so we want to share some of that with you guys here today, but also some of the lessons that we learned, because this is a process where you got to find it for yourself, right?

00:00:26.774 --> 00:00:40.529
I know a lot of people like look at other people, what they're doing, and they're like, oh my God, I got to do that exact same thing.

00:00:40.529 --> 00:00:43.692
But the universal principles are true here, and we'll bring that up as we kind of go.

00:00:43.692 --> 00:00:48.860
So I actually and that's what we build our stuff around right, and we still go out and go on vacations and do that kind of stuff.

00:00:48.860 --> 00:00:53.902
But as we're putting this together, I'm like man, this is pretty boring, but at the same time, it also lights me up to be able to do these things.

00:00:54.323 --> 00:00:58.186
So let me start off at the beginning, and that is like when I wake up Now some morning, if I sleep in, it's 4am.

00:00:58.186 --> 00:00:59.247
And the reason why I'm two reasons.

00:00:59.247 --> 00:01:00.988
Number one is because my universal primetime is in the morning.

00:01:00.988 --> 00:01:12.456
I get more stuff done before the kids, before you're awake, before anything.

00:01:12.456 --> 00:01:19.900
Actually like people in the world are awake, right, because it gives me my freedom to do the things I need to do, but it's also where I'm the most productive, right.

00:01:19.900 --> 00:01:29.287
But number two is because being a police officer for 20 years has built into me this weird schedule where if I try to sleep beyond three, I can't, and it's like you know.

00:01:29.287 --> 00:01:34.251
You look at the clock, it's like 3.05 and 3.10 and 3.12 and you're like what in the world?

00:01:34.251 --> 00:01:39.894
And so because of that, I kind of have been ingrained in me to wake up at this time and I just make the best use out of it.

00:01:39.894 --> 00:01:40.174
Cup.

00:01:40.234 --> 00:01:51.652
First thing I do is I drink a big glass of water, then I come downstairs, I make my shake and then I sit down and I start to put together what I call my daily plan, and that is I practice gratitude every day.

00:01:51.652 --> 00:01:52.415
So this day I actually wrote it down.

00:01:52.415 --> 00:01:53.921
I share between three to four things that I'm thankful for.

00:01:53.921 --> 00:01:56.128
That cannot be the same that I shared the day before.

00:01:56.128 --> 00:01:57.841
I'll give you an idea of why I do this.

00:01:57.841 --> 00:02:00.268
But number one is I was grateful for my health.

00:02:00.268 --> 00:02:09.451
So I have Crohn's disease, an autoimmune disease that actually kind of came to life because of my police career and it comes back every once in a while and it punches me in the gut.

00:02:09.451 --> 00:02:14.411
And this week the people who are supposed to like deliver my medication.

00:02:14.411 --> 00:02:18.768
Let's just say that they're not the best at delivering it and so I didn't have it.

00:02:18.768 --> 00:02:22.683
But yet my health still remained intact and any kind of stress can set me off.

00:02:22.683 --> 00:02:29.120
So I was just super thankful that I still was healthy, despite not having, you know, my injection that I need to have all the time Right.

00:02:29.441 --> 00:02:33.992
Second thing is I was thankful for Teresa, and every day she makes it on my gratitude list.

00:02:33.992 --> 00:03:08.775
But I think about like what is something else that I'm so grateful, that like I'm married to her, or that she's my best friend, and when I think about that it's kind of funny, because when she wakes up and she comes downstairs and I see her first, I'm still thinking about that stuff and I think she's looking at me like why are you looking at me like that weirdo and it's because I focus on not only how much she means to me, but all of the things that she does, all the things that she is, all the ways that I love her, and it just helps me to keep that kindled, if that makes sense, because when you continue to focus on gratitude, you're so thankful for those things it brings you into a different energy for the rest of the day.

00:03:08.775 --> 00:03:12.489
Third thing I did is I was thankful for the opportunities to help people.

00:03:12.489 --> 00:03:17.350
So that day in particular, the day before, I had two people reach out to me and they were really looking for help.

00:03:17.350 --> 00:03:35.106
They were struggling with one of them I think it was like struggling with, like finding new coaching clients and the second was struggling with a coaching client that they have that they didn't know the right questions or what to ask them to help them, and I remember having the opportunity to get on the phone with them and to chat with them and afterwards getting messages back from them saying that was a game changer.

00:03:35.206 --> 00:03:37.600
Thank you so much for helping me and really thinking about that.

00:03:37.600 --> 00:03:47.233
I'm like I now have the opportunity to do that to jump on a call with somebody to coach people to help them not only to achieve their goals, but to help them help others achieve their goals.

00:03:47.233 --> 00:03:54.747
I'm like I need to remind myself of that, because many of the day-to-days is not all beautiful and amazing and everything goes, you know, perfect the first time right.

00:03:54.747 --> 00:04:01.144
And so by doing that sitting down, practice gratitude for five minutes, writing down three things I'm thankful for, really helps fuel my day.

00:04:01.144 --> 00:04:04.326
From there I get into my daily actions that I'm going to be taking.

00:04:04.326 --> 00:04:08.812
I come up with three things that I'm going to be doing to help move me towards my goals.

00:04:08.812 --> 00:04:22.666
For me personally, I have an income slash impact goal, I have a health related goal and I have a family related goal, and I always have those three kind of goals and I think about what are the two to three actions that I'm going to be taking today that is going to move me closer towards my goals.

00:04:22.666 --> 00:04:28.360
Now, sometimes like there's one goal that I don't move towards, but I make sure that I move towards a goal every single day, no matter what happens.

00:04:28.762 --> 00:04:32.391
And so for this day, number one is I worked on our coach accelerator.

00:04:32.391 --> 00:04:40.523
It's a program that we have where we help coaches elevate not only their confidence and their skills but produce more impact and income than they've ever gotten.

00:04:40.523 --> 00:04:49.923
I mean, we got off a call today and one of the guys in there he's like I've never had a client and I just signed a new client today and it's like our third week in the program, so we're going to be relaunching that.

00:04:49.923 --> 00:04:55.204
So I was sitting down thinking about what the launch plan is going to look like and I know you and I were talking about it right Like when are we going to launch?

00:04:55.204 --> 00:04:56.745
How are we going to reverse engineer it?

00:04:56.745 --> 00:04:59.189
What I was going to do is going to work on the launch plan.

00:04:59.209 --> 00:05:01.290
Number two is I was going to schedule three consultation calls.

00:05:01.290 --> 00:05:11.278
So one of the things that I've noticed is like when I move the needle forward in business and I'm helping people, it's because I'm scheduling calls to get on with people.

00:05:11.278 --> 00:05:14.069
Sometimes I help them in that just specific situation and that's it.

00:05:14.069 --> 00:05:18.911
Sometimes I help them or like I really want this kind of help and I would be able to achieve my goals faster.

00:05:18.911 --> 00:05:21.452
So my goal this of this day was to get three of those.

00:05:21.452 --> 00:05:23.454
I ended up getting two of them, but not all three of them.

00:05:23.814 --> 00:05:27.536
And the third thing was to spend intentional time with my family and it was Jay's day.

00:05:27.536 --> 00:05:37.211
So I have a calendar that's up here, and every day of the week, and on Saturday as well, I have a different member of my family that I go on a 15 or 20 minute walk on.

00:05:37.211 --> 00:05:40.384
If it's raining or something, we do something inside together.

00:05:40.384 --> 00:05:44.872
And it was an opportunity to talk to Jay, and I mean even going down to the granular.

00:05:44.872 --> 00:05:50.324
I think he was talking about a brand new game that he was getting into and I was asking him questions about it, getting him to share it with me.

00:05:50.324 --> 00:05:52.800
So we went on like a 25 minute walk at that point.

00:05:53.101 --> 00:05:58.362
Then, after coming up with that plan, then I started to look into what is my hourly breakdown going to be right.

00:05:58.362 --> 00:06:07.333
So I know we were talking about this before we actually recorded and I'd like to hear from you what has been that we work.

00:06:07.333 --> 00:06:16.216
So like in the morning time I'll do some of the business, then I'll do a little bit of family and then, you know, block it off a little bit later so that I have family and no business makes its way into there.

00:06:16.216 --> 00:06:18.970
So do you want to kind of share what you were saying a few minutes?

00:06:18.990 --> 00:06:19.069
ago.

00:06:19.069 --> 00:06:39.552
Yeah, so what I was saying was basically that we segment our day because it's different the way that we, you know, run our business, like we don't go to another location to run our business and then come home it's like everything is here, like we eat, sleep, do our business here, have family time like this is this is it, this is all here.

00:06:39.552 --> 00:06:46.733
So it's really important to actually section that off, to make sure that we have intentional time to do business.

00:06:46.733 --> 00:06:55.266
We have intentional time to just live our lives, or have family time and do homework, do all of those things because it's all here.

00:06:55.266 --> 00:06:59.221
So we can't just like remove ourselves from the environment.

00:06:59.221 --> 00:07:08.184
We have to do that by scheduling and planning it all out and being intentional about the specific times that we're going to dedicate to each area of our life.

00:07:08.504 --> 00:07:17.177
Yeah, yeah, I love that, and one of the things that comes up as you say that is it wasn't something that worked out the first time, it was all about reflection and figuring out like what we can change and do differently.

00:07:17.490 --> 00:07:19.759
Yeah because we would have never thought of that before.

00:07:19.759 --> 00:07:26.060
Like, especially because I was the first one to leave my full-time job, I didn't know that that was what it was gonna be like.

00:07:26.060 --> 00:07:27.872
So it's a learning process.

00:07:27.872 --> 00:07:31.161
It's something where you're going to have to stumble your way through it, right?

00:07:31.682 --> 00:07:32.543
100% Okay.

00:07:32.543 --> 00:07:36.259
So at that point believe it or not, it's been 15 minutes since I've been awake.

00:07:36.259 --> 00:07:44.259
I drank my shake, I did my gratitude, I figured out what the three actions that I'm going to take that day, and then I started to focus on the hourly plan for that day.

00:07:44.259 --> 00:07:47.201
Right, and, by the way, it never turns out the way that it's written down on paper.

00:07:47.201 --> 00:07:49.882
I'd say maybe like 80% of it kind of comes true.

00:07:49.882 --> 00:07:52.204
But plan is better than no plan at all.

00:07:52.564 --> 00:08:02.872
The next thing I do is I read and I focus on what I like to think of is like my one thing, like what's the one thing that I can lean into that gives me the greatest opportunity to develop into the person that I want to be.

00:08:02.872 --> 00:08:08.901
Right now we're reading a book we have a free book club for coaches and it's called the 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth, and I read this before.

00:08:08.901 --> 00:08:13.947
It's by John Maxwell, but it's crazy because I read it at the early stages of our business, like 12, 13 years ago.

00:08:13.947 --> 00:08:29.802
And then I'm rereading it right now and I'm getting so much from it that I never got from it back then and one of the things that I always, I would say, is, like, as a coach, we have to be willing to do the things that we're asking our clients to do, and if we're asking them to grow, to lean in, to get coached, to go take action, then we have to be willing to do that too.

00:08:29.802 --> 00:08:38.083
And so that's one of those things where I was like reading this book is going to help me continue to grow and get better and develop myself, just like I'm asking our clients to do.

00:08:38.083 --> 00:08:40.312
So I spent about 10 to 15 minutes doing that.

00:08:40.312 --> 00:08:51.340
Then I go into what's called affirmations, which is how to reprogram your brain towards what you want, instead of getting your brain to focus on what you don't want, which is usually what's broken, wrong or missing, and so I go over these.

00:08:51.340 --> 00:08:58.341
Affirmations takes about five minutes, and then by then it's about 30 minutes after I've woken up and now I actually get into doing my business.

00:08:58.341 --> 00:09:04.118
Now those first 30 minutes are all about doing business indirectly, but that was working on my business.

00:09:04.118 --> 00:09:08.474
Next, I work a little bit in my business, and so I sat down for this day.

00:09:08.474 --> 00:09:10.499
It was about an hour and I followed my tracker.

00:09:10.499 --> 00:09:14.388
So we have a tracker that we use for everything right, we have it inside of our programs.

00:09:14.388 --> 00:09:18.219
We use it for ourselves to kind of keep track of where we are, to see you know what adjustments we can make.

00:09:18.219 --> 00:09:20.453
Here's kind of like what was on my tracker for that day.

00:09:20.835 --> 00:09:23.422
I wrote an email about confidence and self-sabotage.

00:09:23.422 --> 00:09:33.063
So that is a really big thing that I'm helping a lot of coaches through is develop more confidence and develop more confidence, and so I wrote an email to give them a quick win but also to share that we're going to be opening the accelerator again really soon.

00:09:33.063 --> 00:09:33.384
Right.

00:09:33.384 --> 00:09:34.804
Then I checked into messages.

00:09:34.804 --> 00:09:37.006
So I check into messages in a very specific way.

00:09:37.006 --> 00:09:39.347
First I check in what's called Marco Polo.

00:09:39.347 --> 00:09:41.033
It's the app that we use for our clients.

00:09:41.033 --> 00:09:43.900
So I first make sure that they're taken care of that.

00:09:43.900 --> 00:09:45.892
I'm there to help them all that stuff.

00:09:45.892 --> 00:09:47.455
From there, I check into the app.

00:09:47.455 --> 00:09:50.960
We have our own app where our book club is, also where the Coach Accelerator is.

00:09:50.960 --> 00:09:55.346
I check in there to see if there's anybody who needs anything who is inside of those programs.

00:09:55.769 --> 00:10:03.461
And then I go to social media and that is like trying to find new people, trying to tell them what it is that I do for a living and then offering an opportunity for me to help them.

00:10:03.461 --> 00:10:12.422
So that's the process that I take when I go through my messages because I want to make sure the people that I have here are being served, and then it gives me a whole different energy when I go out to find new ones.

00:10:12.422 --> 00:10:19.451
So that is what I did for that period of time, and then I put together the training materials for the next couple of weeks inside of the coach accelerator.

00:10:19.451 --> 00:10:21.417
So that's how I spent that hour.

00:10:21.417 --> 00:10:25.212
After that, around five o'clock is the time when I go work out.

00:10:25.212 --> 00:10:28.220
I did like a 45 minute workout inside of the garage.

00:10:28.220 --> 00:10:37.030
We do that and then I got done, made us breakfast, got the kids up and then it was like kind of like dad mode, where I'm getting them ready, yeah the hardest part.

00:10:38.092 --> 00:10:47.349
Definitely the hardest part getting them out the door once they're already taking them to school and then coming back, and then when I came back, then I could get back into work mode.

00:10:47.349 --> 00:10:48.130
Any questions about that?

00:10:48.130 --> 00:10:49.212
By the way, did I miss anything?

00:10:49.494 --> 00:11:03.495
No, I well, I did want to point something out is that the first 30 minutes, you know, you, you rattled off a lot of different things and I think that when people ask, like, what it is that we do because I we even got this question when we went to that party I was like, so what do you guys do all day?

00:11:03.796 --> 00:11:09.523
Right, and people want to hear, oh well, I, you know, I do this and it's like specific to the business.

00:11:09.523 --> 00:11:15.583
Like you know, I talk to people or whatever right, like things that are directly related to business.

00:11:15.583 --> 00:11:25.677
But the first 30 minutes of marketing up and I do something very similar is we do the internal work, we do, we focus on ourselves, we focus on our self-care.

00:11:25.677 --> 00:11:41.860
You know, even doing affirmations, that's a form of self-care, because you want to make sure that you're priming your brain so that everything that you do after that is actually inspiring and not something that is going to, you know, all those negative, self-limiting beliefs are going to creep in.

00:11:41.860 --> 00:11:51.033
So the things that we do right before the actual work is focusing on ourselves, because that's going to set us up for success for the day.

00:11:51.315 --> 00:11:52.538
Yeah, very, very good point.

00:11:52.538 --> 00:11:54.927
I mean thinking about it in terms of like.

00:11:54.927 --> 00:11:56.894
I don't necessarily think of it in terms of self-care.

00:11:56.894 --> 00:12:02.619
I think of it in terms of how do I put myself into the best mindset to do the work that I need to do and get the best results?

00:12:02.619 --> 00:12:09.530
Because if you're just trying to throw together that other stuff, like, you're going to not be showing up at least I wasn't showing up the way that I needed.

00:12:09.530 --> 00:12:24.581

Thank you for being willing to lean in, and let's get right back into the show Now.

00:12:48.275 --> 00:13:02.784
When I get back from taking the kids to school, what happened this Monday is I also teach and facilitate and train in several other businesses as a coach, and so for this one, I met with the people from the Dad Edge businesses as a coach, and so for this one, I met with the people from the dad edge.

00:13:02.784 --> 00:13:05.716
I teach inside of their business boardroom and we put together the topic in teaching that we're going to be doing that week.

00:13:05.716 --> 00:13:11.380
So I basically am helping putting together the presentation and the training that we're going to be giving the men that are inside of the boardroom.

00:13:11.380 --> 00:13:26.500
Then after that, I also team up with a group of men from aims, the aims Institute, where they help people who have a million dollar businesses, smaller businesses, but who need some like leadership, coaching and management systems, and so I help with that part of that process too.

00:13:26.500 --> 00:13:40.330
On that morning Then you and I sat down and we put together our launch plan on what the accelerator launch plan is going to look like how we're going to get people, how we're going to find it, how we're going to breadcrumb all the things that we did, including, like some of the testimonials from our newest people who are going through it and totally crushing it.

00:13:40.630 --> 00:13:43.155
After that, I jumped on two different consultation calls.

00:13:43.155 --> 00:13:46.504
One was somebody who had a problem finding new clients.

00:13:46.504 --> 00:13:53.337
So, about 25 minutes afterwards, she had a plan to be able to go and find new clients, and another one was like struggling to start her business.

00:13:53.337 --> 00:14:04.196
She was getting her own way when it comes to starting business, and, for her, I helped her see how, in the past, she had gotten in her own way with her own physical, mental health, but she was able to get past it and get to the best shape of her life and how.

00:14:04.196 --> 00:14:08.043
This is no different, and so she also now had a plan to be able to tackle that.

00:14:08.043 --> 00:14:10.504
So those are two different consultations that I did.

00:14:17.442 --> 00:14:23.390
One of them is gonna continue to work with me, the other one I'm gonna, o'clock in the morning when I go on a walk, I'll do a couple things.

00:14:23.390 --> 00:14:32.207
Number one is sometimes I listen to nothing and I just like let my brain wander, just so we can get that rest Sometimes.

00:14:32.207 --> 00:14:33.451
Number two is I listen to a podcast or a book.

00:14:33.451 --> 00:14:43.164
Right this day, though, what I wanted to do is I want to check in with our responding to them while I was walking, giving them advice and direction and coaching and stuff like that, because we like to be able to help over deliver for our clients.

00:14:43.164 --> 00:14:47.576
So being able to do that while I'm going on a walk kind of like kills two birds with one stone.

00:14:47.917 --> 00:14:51.248
And then we came back and I did what's called book ending my day.

00:14:51.248 --> 00:14:57.942
So like around 1145 ish on that day I sat down I thought about okay, what are all the things I was able to do and accomplish today?

00:14:57.942 --> 00:15:02.850
I gave myself some kudos for that and then ask myself what do I need to set myself up for success for tomorrow?

00:15:02.850 --> 00:15:14.345
So by the time I get back into business tomorrow, I know what I'm going to be focused on and so I can kind of unwind the day and finish everything that, anything that I need to, so I don't feel like I need to rush back into business a little bit later when the kids are there.

00:15:14.345 --> 00:15:15.225
And I did.

00:15:15.326 --> 00:15:26.292
It's called bookending your day, and so I did that between 1145 and 12, and at 12 o'clock we ate lunch and then you and I just chilled, I think we watched Will Trent, which is which is our thing.

00:15:26.292 --> 00:15:31.178
So we watched Will Trent and then at two o'clock I went to go get the kids brought them back and then I made dinner.

00:15:31.178 --> 00:15:32.903
I went on that walk with Jay.

00:15:32.903 --> 00:15:35.477
Like I said, I got to play some video games with Andrew that day.

00:15:35.477 --> 00:15:46.421
We're playing a video game called Honkai Star Rail and then I got to spend 30 minutes with you having conversations and then I went to bed that day around 6.15, which isa little late for me, it's a little bit late.

00:15:46.421 --> 00:15:50.157
And then I woke up the next morning and I did the same thing, got to work at three.

00:15:50.157 --> 00:15:55.043
So I mean, woke up at three, there we go, and so that's what a day looks like, right?

00:15:55.143 --> 00:15:58.687
I know some of the intricacies in there, like when it comes to like what I'm doing for work.

00:15:58.687 --> 00:15:59.908
They change every day, right?

00:15:59.908 --> 00:16:04.162
Monday is normally a really heavy planning day, a little bit of consultation day.

00:16:04.162 --> 00:16:07.296
Tuesdays, thursdays and Fridays are heavy like client days.

00:16:07.296 --> 00:16:10.811
Like I'm doing five, six, seven different coaching calls in those days.

00:16:10.811 --> 00:16:21.830
Wednesdays are always date days, like nothing makes it to our calendar because it's just me and Teresa dropping the kids off and waving goodbye and then go and having some fun all day and then picking them up a little bit later.

00:16:22.174 --> 00:16:24.403
Saturday we do a very quick call in the morning.

00:16:24.403 --> 00:16:31.404
That's our coach accelerator, because we want people who are maybe not able to make it during the week because they're working full time to be able to develop their coaching skills and confidence.

00:16:31.404 --> 00:16:32.856
So we do that on Saturday and then Sunday.

00:16:32.856 --> 00:16:36.303
We don't have anything that we have planned, but I still wake up between three and four o'clock.

00:16:36.303 --> 00:16:38.946
It's just the way it is, and I do primarily this stuff in the morning time.

00:16:38.946 --> 00:16:49.696
When it comes to fueling my brain, gratitude, planning out the day, like Sunday, I do it like as if it's a business day because, like things to do with the family and all that kind of stuff, it's just as important.

00:16:49.696 --> 00:16:50.917
It makes it to my schedule too.

00:16:51.076 --> 00:16:53.378
And that's when we plan our week ahead.

00:16:53.597 --> 00:16:55.278
Yes, 100%, 100%.

00:16:55.278 --> 00:17:00.282
So here's the thing I'd love to hear, like what spoke loudest to you about this video.

00:17:00.282 --> 00:17:04.124
If you made it this far, you literally were listening to our day to day.

00:17:04.124 --> 00:17:07.625
I mean pretty much everything that I said in here, except for, maybe, when I use the bathroom.

00:17:07.625 --> 00:17:19.153
But besides that, like I'd love to hear like what spoke loudest to you, and maybe some things, maybe some ideas that you might actually have, or some things that you might even want to recommend to us that has really really helped you.

00:17:19.153 --> 00:17:20.053
We'd love to hear it.

00:17:20.434 --> 00:17:31.762
Regardless, this is one of those things where I constantly remind myself I pinch myself all the time that I get the opportunity to do this, and it took a lot of hard work while I was working full-time in order to be able to make this possible.

00:17:31.762 --> 00:17:36.361
And then sometimes, trace and I will just like look over at like 12 o'clock and we're sitting down watching some TV going.

00:17:36.361 --> 00:17:37.582
Can you believe?

00:17:37.582 --> 00:17:40.866
This is our life and we want that for you too.

00:17:40.866 --> 00:17:45.582
So if that's something that we can do for you, we have a program, like we said, called the Coach Accelerator.

00:17:45.761 --> 00:17:47.310
I'll leave you the link and information below.

00:17:47.310 --> 00:17:54.740
We're actually going to be opening it very, very soon and if you're on that waitlist, you actually get a special early bird discount to be a part of that group.

00:17:54.740 --> 00:18:08.345
But that's where we're helping coaches improve and increase their income and impact by literally focusing on their confidence and their skills, so they know that they can help somebody through anything that person is struggling with and being able to make a huge impact in the world.

00:18:08.345 --> 00:18:10.882
So that's ever something you'd like to do, we'll leave it for you in there.

00:18:10.882 --> 00:18:13.037
Otherwise, we'll see you guys on the next show.

00:18:13.037 --> 00:18:14.540
Have a great day.
